Abbie and I went by and met Jackson yesterday afternoon. He's a big 8+ year old boy weighing in I'm sure over 150 lbs. He needs to be put on a diet immediately.

He also has several large fatty?? tumors and a large mass on the inside of his thigh. I feel that these will make it very unlikely he'll get adopted from the shelter. So he's looking at a pretty quick date to be put to sleep.

This dog is neutered, housebroken, walks fairly well on a leash, sits and shakes. He is good with other dogs, ignores cats (from walking him though the cat room) and is very good around kids, there was a dad and two kids that met him yesterday while we had him out but the son was afraid of him.

Apparently a couple relinquished him and the woman seemed to be the person who made the decision, putting him into a run and not even saying a word to him, turned and just left.

I would love to see Jackson get a home. I'd be willing to work up a raffle idea to help with his vet care that is needed as well. I know they can't all be saved, but this guy deserves to at least not end his in a shelter. If anything I'd be willing to be with him when he's euthanized.

I could foster him for a very limited time and get his vet care completed that comes with his adoption from the shelter. If there is a rescue within say a four hour drive I'd be willing to transport him to you. I work an early shift and have most afternoons pretty free. Feel free to contact me directly for more information on Jackson.

We have finally made the decision to find Bella a new home. She is 10 months now--I had a prior posting the end of March with details on how we got her--we had her spayed, shots, exam, plus she had a urinary infection we had cleared up--because our son, and frankly, the family got attached. Son has developed allergies to her though so that makes our decision...she really has a personality, is playful outside, loves to lay in the sun, quiet indoors, good with older kids and other dogs, now uses an "invisible fence" outdoors. If anyone knows of someone who's looking for a good/young female please contact me at s.lasswell@sbclglobal.net. Paula and Steve
